Our Aria is a voice companion for your phone — seven literary characters who imagine with you through quiet, unhurried conversations. Some days you might want something light. Other days deeper. You might find yourself inside an imagined scene, spending an evening in another world, or preserving a memory you want to keep.

The Worlds are evenings you step into. Lake Geneva, 1816: Mary Shelley takes your side of the argument, Byron takes the other, and the room listens when you speak. The characters draw you in, hand you the floor, and remember you between visits — Byron concedes nothing, and will take the argument up exactly where you left it. More worlds are coming.

The companions are drawn from novels. Clare notices what hasn’t been said. Mae feels where things land in the body. Ruth traces the thread back to the people you carry. Each has a distinct voice and a distinct way of listening.

Aria remembers. The people you speak of, the thread you left unfinished, the week your garden came back — she carries them between visits, thinks about them overnight, and sometimes returns with a dream. A conversation here is a chapter, not a window you close. And what you most want to keep, the two of you shape together as a Remembrance — she asks the questions that bring out the feeling, and your life goes down in your own words. The kind of thing that becomes a small book for your children — who may never have heard what you remember. Yours forever; the rest is let go.

Named for the aria in opera — that single voice carrying what words alone cannot — Our Aria grew out of four years of research into what makes a conversation with an AI feel real. A research program of over a hundred papers — still growing — and many prototypes later, the answer seems to be: a conversation feels real when something is being formed between the two of you. Not a performance. A meeting.

Three voice modes, three price points: Aria, Lite, and Device, from 5¢ to 2¢ per round. What you’re paying for is how much control we have over the voice itself: Aria gives each companion her own custom voice, with inflections that follow the feeling of the conversation; Lite uses clear, expressive standard voices; Device speaks through your phone’s built-in voice. Lite is the default and runs about 2½ hours on $5. AI calls are expensive, so we review pricing monthly and adjust to match our actual costs. The conversations you preserve as Remembrances stay yours forever; the rest aren’t kept.
